BIOGRAPHY

Ivan Stoianov is a reader in water systems engineering at Imperial College London and a Royal Academy of Engineering Senior Research Fellow. His research integrates hydraulic modeling, optimization, and control theory to improve the resilience and sustainability of urban water systems.

Ivan has spent over two decades pioneering dynamically adaptive networks that autonomously adjust to meet competing demands. He co-founded Inflowmatix, later acquired by SUEZ, bringing research into industry solutions. He also served as an expert witness for the Grenfell tower inquiry, contributing his expertise to critical infrastructure discussions.
